Coats & Clothes to Wynview

This Monday, December 20th, we will join with Hope & Life Fellowship to deliver 100 coats and tons of clothing to the refugees we minister to @ Wynview Apartments in Stone Mountain.  If you'd like to go minister with us, meet @ the warehouse @ 11.  We'll have pizza @ Hope & Life and then deliver the coats.  We should be back to the warehouse by 3:30.  We would love to have parents go with us too!  Email Jono if you have any questions.

Gift Wrap

This Sunday night we're getting together to wrap all of the gifts for the kids we're helping this Christmas.  

We’ll have pizza, fun, fellowship, and God stories and the whole family is invited!  The party will start at 6:30 pm, but you can drop in at any point. 

We’ll be set up until all the gifts are wrapped!  Wrapping supplies will be provided, but you can bring your own if you would like.  If you are planning to attend, click here.

Mall Scavenger Hunt

If you wanna have a little fun with your youth group, join us Monday @ 11 am for a trip to the mall.  While we're there you'll have a chance to win Cinnabon for your friends with a scavenger hunt.

What Can I Do?

What can you do as a middle or high school student to help orphans?  1 way is to sponsor a child through "Compassion International."  For $38 a month you can help a child across the world have food, shelter, education, and hear about the love of Jesus.
God has called the Church, His people, to care for Orphans.  This is a way to get in on it!

Saturday October 9th [re]Wired is going to go serve the refugees living @ the English Oaks apartments in Clarkston by providing them with family photos & some fun with the kids.
We've noticed that many of the families have no photos of themselves so we want to meet that need & in the process share the love of Jesus.
**We will also send a group to Wynview to hand out jackets and serve lunch.

Here's how YOU can help:
1.  Go with us to hand out flyers on Thursday Oct. 7 @ 3:30 pm
2.  Go with us on Saturday Oct. 9 to take pix.  Meet @ the warehouse @ 11:00 a.m.
3.  Provide a printer with a card reader slot or donate photo paper.
4.  Make a $ donation to help purchase ink & picture frames.

August 25th kicks off [re]Wired for the new school year.  We'll welcome our new 6th & 9th graders and begin our new series on 2nd Corinthians: TRANSFORMATION.  Its gonna be kickin'.
We'll study the book for 6 weeks and look at how being in Christ transforms us into a new creation and how that transformation shows up in the life of a believer.

School Supplies to Refugees

Saturday August 7th we'll be partnering with the Children's ministry to provide school supplies to the kids @ Wynview Apartments in Stone Mountain.

Back Yard Bible Clubs

Tuesday - Friday (Aug. 3-6) from 3:30 - 5:30 pm we will be doing a  Backyard Bible Club @ George Walton Homes.  This will be an awesome week of reaching kids for Jesus & we could use your help!  If you'd like to help please meet us @ the warehouse @ 2:30 on the days you are available.  We will be back to the warehouse by 6.

High School Rafting Trip

Disciple Now is a few days away!  D Now is always a great weekend and this year will be no different. If you haven't signed up yet it isn't too late!  See the post on D Now for all the details.

So what should you bring with you @ 6:30 to the warehouse on Friday????

• A Bible (one you can understand....not your grandmother's 1611 King James Version)
• Clothes for Saturday & Sunday
• Shower stuff / deoderant
• Sleeping bag / pillow (you may get an actual bed but no promises)
• Your favorite Cereal & a snack to share
• Clothes for recreation Friday night (gym clothes)
• Your $35 if you haven't paid
• A friend who doesn't know Jesus / you can just show up with them @ the last minute if you get them to come with you....you don't have to ask.  

What should you leave at home?

• iPods (no one likes a hermit)
• If you have to bring a cell phone we ask you to leave it turned off accept to call home.  We want you free from distractions so you can hear from Jesus so...leave it at home if u can. 
• drugs / firecrackers / girlfriends / iguanas / stinky chips / speedos

The Garden Friday Night

The Garden (read more about it here) is a shelter for homeless Mothers & their children.
Friday night we're gonna go throw them a birthday party and show them the love of Jesus.
Its gonna be a good night.  There's about 25 kids there and we're gonna have cake, games, a pinata, candy, and music! 

We need middle & high schoolers (especially some guys) as well as a few parents to help.

Meet @ the warehouse ready to go @ 4:30 Friday.  Eat before you come, we won't have time to stop.

The Best Weekend of Your Year

There is no doubt that this years "Disciple Now" weekend is gonna rock!  There are some amazing things planned and if you miss out....you will be sorry.

So what is D Now?  
Its like a retreat except we stay close to home.  The weekend will begin on Friday April 16th @ the warehouse @ 6:30 p.m. (eat dinner before you come).  We will spend time at the warehouse in Worship, Bible Study with Jason Young, small groups led by college students, crazy recreation, and some other very cool surprises.  We will finish the weekend with a meal together after worship on Sunday April 18th.

We'll sleep & have most meals in the homes of Church Members (all approved and background checked).

How Do I Sign Up??
The Cost is $35 & includes t shirt, recreation, meals, notebook, and everything else you need.  Pick up a registration envelope @ [re]Wired or @ the Resource Table on Sunday morning.  Sign up ASAP!

Ok.....so the Series on Romans ends tomorrow night & I really hope you'll bring a friend.  You guys have been rocking lately @ bringing your friends who need to hear the Gospel and I pray you'll keep it up.  It's the most important thing you can do for a friend!

Some things to remember:

(2) Disciple Now Weekend: April 23 - 25 // This is one of the best things we do all year and this year is no different.  $35 covers food, shirt, lodging, etc. // Im not saying it's gonna be awesome but we have to file paperwork with the Federal Aviation Administration.....its a secret :)
(3) Baptism Class:  This Sunday @ 9:30 @ MHS // If you need to be baptized, sign up for this class by emailing office@crossroadswalton.org
(4) High School Small Groups are meeting on Sunday mornings @ 9 a.m. in the cafeteria.  There is one for you and this is the best way for you to grow spiritually and relationally in our student ministry.  Don't miss out on small groups.

What is the McFormal?  Every other year we have some fun by getting all dressed up in your best formal wear (girls: dresses & guys: ties).  We head to a 2 story McDonalds in Atlanta and have a crazy fun time.
