D Now 2010 // What to Bring

Disciple Now is a few days away!  D Now is always a great weekend and this year will be no different. If you haven't signed up yet it isn't too late!  See the post on D Now for all the details.

So what should you bring with you @ 6:30 to the warehouse on Friday????

• A Bible (one you can understand....not your grandmother's 1611 King James Version)
• Clothes for Saturday & Sunday
• Shower stuff / deoderant
• Sleeping bag / pillow (you may get an actual bed but no promises)
• Your favorite Cereal & a snack to share
• Clothes for recreation Friday night (gym clothes)
• Your $35 if you haven't paid
• A friend who doesn't know Jesus / you can just show up with them @ the last minute if you get them to come with you....you don't have to ask.  

What should you leave at home?

• iPods (no one likes a hermit)
• If you have to bring a cell phone we ask you to leave it turned off accept to call home.  We want you free from distractions so you can hear from Jesus so...leave it at home if u can. 
• drugs / firecrackers / girlfriends / iguanas / stinky chips / speedos  

No [re]Wired on April 7th

Hey Guys!  We won't meet for [re]Wired during Spring Break.  Be safe and live for Jesus this week.

The Garden Friday Night

The Garden (read more about it here) is a shelter for homeless Mothers & their children.
Friday night we're gonna go throw them a birthday party and show them the love of Jesus.
Its gonna be a good night.  There's about 25 kids there and we're gonna have cake, games, a pinata, candy, and music! 

We need middle & high schoolers (especially some guys) as well as a few parents to help.

Meet @ the warehouse ready to go @ 4:30 Friday.  Eat before you come, we won't have time to stop.
We will grab something on the way home if  you wanna bring money.  We should be back to the warehouse by 10 pm.

The Best Weekend of Your Year

There is no doubt that this years "Disciple Now" weekend is gonna rock!  There are some amazing things planned and if you miss out....you will be sorry.

So what is D Now?  
Its like a retreat except we stay close to home.  The weekend will begin on Friday April 16th @ the warehouse @ 6:30 p.m. (eat dinner before you come).  We will spend time at the warehouse in Worship, Bible Study with Jason Young, small groups led by college students, crazy recreation, and some other very cool surprises.  We will finish the weekend with a meal together after worship on Sunday April 18th.

We'll sleep & have most meals in the homes of Church Members (all approved and background checked).

How Do I Sign Up??
The Cost is $35 & includes t shirt, recreation, meals, notebook, and everything else you need.  Pick up a registration envelope @ [re]Wired or @ the Resource Table on Sunday morning.  Sign up ASAP!

STUFF TO KNOW

Ok.....so the Series on Romans ends tomorrow night & I really hope you'll bring a friend.  You guys have been rocking lately @ bringing your friends who need to hear the Gospel and I pray you'll keep it up.  It's the most important thing you can do for a friend!

Some things to remember:

(1) Text Alerts: Go to our website (www.ccwcstudents.com) and sign up to receive text alerts.
(2) Disciple Now Weekend: April 23 - 25 // This is one of the best things we do all year and this year is no different.  $35 covers food, shirt, lodging, etc. // Im not saying it's gonna be awesome but we have to file paperwork with the Federal Aviation Administration.....its a secret :)
(3) Baptism Class:  This Sunday @ 9:30 @ MHS // If you need to be baptized, sign up for this class by emailing office@crossroadswalton.org
(4) High School Small Groups are meeting on Sunday mornings @ 9 a.m. in the cafeteria.  There is one for you and this is the best way for you to grow spiritually and relationally in our student ministry.  Don't miss out on small groups.
(5) Night of Worship next Wednesday night.  Be here next week @ [re]Wired for a pretty cool night of worship & prayer.
